You Shouldn't Have to Live With These Challenges

Too many women in Houston are told their symptoms are just part of life. But common doesn't mean normal—and it definitely doesn't mean you have to accept it.

  • Leaking with Exercise or Daily Activities

Sneezing, jumping, running, or even laughing shouldn't come with the fear of leaking. If you're avoiding workouts or social situations because of bladder control issues, we can help you regain confidence.

  • Pelvic Pain or Heaviness

Pelvic pain, pressure, or a feeling of heaviness can interfere with everything from walking to intimacy. This isn't something you have to tolerate—it's something we can address.

  • Pain During or After Pregnancy

From preparing your body for labor to recovering postpartum, pregnancy brings unique challenges. You need guidance that's specific to your body and your goals, not generic advice that doesn't fit.

PIONE3R Bridges Rehab and Real Life

Tara Cameron

"I had the best pelvic floor recovery experience with Dr. Alexis Shoope! Alexis really cares about her patients. I felt seen and heard with my issues and recovery plan post-partum. Plus the online app for exercises was really convenient to help me remember the correct form for each exercise on my own. Alexis was just delightful and helped me fully recover!"

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We've got answers. If you don't see what you're looking for, give us a call or schedule a free consultation.

Do I need a referral to see a pelvic floor physical therapist in Houston?

No. Thanks to Texas Direct Access Law, you can see a physical therapist without a referral for up to 15 business days if your therapist is residency-trained (like ours!). If treatment is needed beyond 15 days, we'll help you get a referral from your doctor. Our team is also highly trained in recognizing when another healthcare provider may be needed, so you're always in safe hands

What should I expect during my first pelvic floor physical therapy session?

Your first visit is 60 minutes of one-on-one time with your therapist. We'll go through a detailed history, assess your posture, strength, movement patterns, and pelvic floor function. Depending on your symptoms and goals, we may or may not perform an internal pelvic floor exam—this is always discussed with you first and is never required. From there, we'll create a customized treatment plan that includes hands-on care, corrective exercises, and education so you fully understand what's happening and how to improve.

Do you accept insurance for pelvic floor therapy?

PIONE3R is an out-of-network provider. We operate on a cash-based model, which means we take out the middleman (insurance) and allow your physical therapist to decide what's best for your care—not the insurance company. We're fully transparent with our pricing upfront, so you won't get any surprise bills. We accept FSA and HSA cards, and we're happy to provide a superbill if you'd like to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

Still have questions?

We'd love to hear from you. Reach out for a free phone consultation, and we'll help you figure out if pelvic floor physical therapy is right for you.
